![]() 8-25-07 Tokio Hotel Happenings: A Commentary Well, there's been a heck of a lot going on in the land of Tokio Hotel lately! Oh, you didn't know? Allow me to inform you. #1: Bill's new tattoo Yes, our Bill got a new tattoo. And no, his mother doesn't approve. The tattoo says "Freheit 89" and is inked onto his lovely little forearm. Now, I know what you're thinking, is this some sort of homage to a political event that took place in 1989? Freiheit does mean "Freedom" in English after all.
But no. Bill has let us all know that his tattoo doesn't, in fact, have anything to do with the 1989 theatrical release of Disney's "The Little Mermaid". Apparently, the tattoo is about him gaining some sort of freedom after turning 18 and the 89 stands for 1989, the year of his birth into this wild world. Now, I like the tattoo. It's a little feminine, maybe, but hey, this is Bill we're talking about. The boy (soon to be man) wears glitter in his eyelashes. I guess our little Bill is growing up and is ready to be free of all of the constraints that his lavid, rockstar life brings. I mean, his existence is much like being trapped in a gilded cage, and he is but a delicate song bird chewing on the seeds of capitivity and drinking from the water spout of slavery. Something that may interest readers, Bushido was recently inked with a very similar design to Bill's. What does it all mean?!
What sort of fan would you be if you didn't know that Tokio Hotel released their first single on the 24th? I don't actually know, it was a rhetorical question.
But don't get too excited. Tokio Hotel's management has pushed back the release of their entire English album "Scream" by a few months. Apparently, they aren't "ready" or "set" to let "go" of that sucker. And this is the UK album release. What does this mean for us American fans? Get comfortable, you may be waiting a long, long while to get a copy of the American release. But don't fret! I'm sure that watching all of your European friends delight in their overflowing Tokio Hotel bounty will be just as good as having it yourself. Am I right or am I right? Let's just be patient. I've got some paint drying that should entertain me until next summer. I reccomend slaking your TH hunger by spinning in circles, spitting off bridges, and taunting chained dogs. Or, you could taunt Tom's hat. Just beware, that thing may fly off the handle and maul you to within an inch of your life. #3: Tom took his cap off, but not for charity Okay, so I don't have pictoral evidence of this, but a good friend of mine actually saw Tom capless , and I tend to believe her. I guess you'll just have to make up your own mind about this one. The only thing I really take out of Tom taking his hat off, is that he didn't do it for charity. I'm not saying he doesn't want to take his hat off for charity, I'm saying he is very forgetful! In a recent radio interview, Tom was actually asked about Caps Off For Charity You can read for yourself the transcript (note: this actually happened, I am not making it up):
Tom, Tom, Tom! Have you forgotten about our little charity already? Or has something been lost in translation? I'm going to pretend his hectic, German, rockstar lifestyle has something to do with the answer to this question. And about that inner peace thing... take off that cap and WE SHALL SEE. Oh, and stop laughing at my plight. I'll see you out back behind the dumpsters, and we'll settle this like real men.
Send in a comment and it might just make next week's column!
